Creeksea Place | Wedding Reception & Event Venue in Essex

Creeksea Place is the ancestral home of the Harris family and was originally built in 1569. A new wing was added to the building in the early 1900s by the Rome family, and in 1947 the house and estate was acquired by the Bertorelli family. Lord Mildmay, Keeper of the Crown Jewels, was one of the Twelve State Elders who signed King Charles I death warrant; he was later arrested at Creeksea Place, then taken to the tower of London. Time has unfortunately born its inevitable burden upon parts of Creeksea Place and the Bertorelli family have been making every conceivable effort to restore the house to its original, proud stature. Funds generated from events at the venue are being poured back into the house to ensure a gradual but complete restoration of Creeksea Place and its surroundings.
